What could happen if you were to take it? Here’s feedback from this week:
I wanted to wait a few more weeks until I replied to this email.
My history is that exactly a year ago I stopped smoking. I have put on 10 kilos (22 lbs) (I also had some holidays and over-ate).
So, I lost 4 kilos (9 lbs) in the first 2 weeks. After 4 weeks I have lost nearly 9 kilos (20 lbs). So very happy with the weigh loss. However I did not give up beer. Sorry, I just could not. I know I am breaking one of the rules, but it was too much for me. I did however switch to an ultra low-carb beer, so that helped. If you’re interested , and UK users of the site might be, its call Marsons Low C, (now called Resultion, link here – read the reviews).
- I no longer get the “carb crash”. (This after eating sandwiches at lunch and being hungry and shaky at 3 pm).
- I have more energy. I had to run for a train the other day, I managed it without sweating etc.
- I have lost loads off my gut. I now need a belt!
- I was with my Dr (unrelated) and mentioned the diet. He was very impressed with my weight loss, but he was very worried and scared me about so much saturated fat in my diet. My family has a history of heart related problems and it shocked me.
- I travel a lot with work and find it hard to plan or find food on the go, though subway double meat salads are great.
I have got my sister-in-law on it, she has lost 4 kilos (9 lbs) in 2 weeks.
Good morning Andreas,I agree, the 1st week was tough but from there, we got into the swing of it.
My husband and I have just finished the Low-Carb Challenge. I agree, the 1st week was tough but from there, we got into the swing of it. My husband gets hungry and hasn’t lost any weight – he needs to lose about 20 kg (44 lbs) – but will keep going. I have lost 2 kg (4 lbs) and an inch (2 cm) around my waist, so feel really good about it.
Thank you for great guidelines and recipes.
I really enjoyed following the Low-Carb Challenge. I’ve been eating low carb for a few years now but had fallen off the wagon for a couple of months and needed to get back on track. I have been ‘Banting’ for a couple of years and find that I ‘plateau’ a lot on it which is not only frustrating but very disheartening. I’ve found better results with the keto diet plan and I am to keep going.
Thanks very much for all the insightful information on your website!
The challenge was good… I lost just 4 kg (9 lbs) but it’s OK… From 115 kg (254 lbs) now 111 kg (245 lbs)… I know I cheated at some point.
I am in for another challenge though, locally organized by Ketosis in my locality. I found most of the items there are not easily gotten from where I reside. I won’t mind if I could be shown a place where I can get all the stuff needed. Keto all the way.
Thanks and keep up with the good job.
The Low-Carb challenge was great and I could lose 3 kg (7 lbs) in two weeks. Actually I didn’t cook all the recipes on the list since from the information on the website I learned how to cook in low-carb. I want to continue this diet but just add some fruits (specially low-carb ones like berries) because I really miss fruits.
I did the two-week challenge. It was not hard. I was really never hungry. My craving for salty carbs went away. I felt full most of the time. I dropped 5 pounds (2 kg). I feel good. No stomach pains from bloating (I do not have a gallbladder and sometimes food does not agree with me). I usually drop around 5 pounds (2 kg) on other diets and then it all starts coming back. I am hoping this time it will not and I will keep on dropping the weight. The menus were easy and I saved money not buying a lot of food that at the end of the week would trash. The menus were easy and I saved money not buying a lot of food that at the end of the week would trash
I am going to keep going. Thanks for the Diet Doctor site.
I just completed the challenge. I lost 10 lbs (4 kg)! I did well with eggs the first week in the mornings and then I had an aversion to them so I needed a break. I noticed that I wasn’t feeling as full and hunger set in around 9 pm. I am back to eggs but cooked differently so everything is okay for now.
I did go apple picking with my family so did have a couple of small apples. Also there was a bakery there and I had a cheese tea biscuit. I didn’t regret it as it was the best tea biscuit I’ve ever had. I know it likely put me back but I got right back on afterwards. I have a lot of weight to lose. I’m 5″2 (157 cm), 45 years old and started at 215 lbs (98 kg). I’m down to 205 lbs (93 kg). My goal is 135 lbs (61 kg).
Thanks for your help and I’ll email you again soon.
Wow! I lost 7 lbs (3 kg) in 2 weeks and I am 63! Even better is I have gotten a handle on my sugar/carb consumption. But the very best is my joints do not ache, my fingers seem to be more nimble and I feel like exercising again. I stand up straighter and my thick middle is significantly whittled down. My only concern is high cholesterol. How do I know if my high cholesterol is lowering?Wow! I lost 7 lbs (3 kg) in 2 weeks and I am 63!
Thank you so much for you work!
Well, here are my thoughts about this diet:
I started at 170 lbs (77 kg) on Sept 13 and this morning I weighed 164 lbs (74 kg). My energy is more readily available, my digestion is improved, I love the foods I’m eating and I think my mind is more clear.
I would say I have had great success on this program… twenty years ago while weight training (4 years) I ate similar to this, but instead of high fat, I ate as little fat as I could ingest. I think I’ve been rebound eating since and think it’s why I went from 125 lbs (57 kg) to 170 lbs (77 kg) in 15 years… at 62 years old today, I just couldn’t seem to find the correct calibration of food until a friend (and athlete) recommended I look into LCHF eating program.
The first 5 days I did eat breakfast, but since I have been on the 16-8, I feel really good with the 2 meals a day. Now I am going to continue on and hopefully as I see more progress, make this a lifestyle way of enjoying my food… I would love to think my blood profile numbers are decreasing along with burning fat as fuel!
Thank you for sharing this information (and your humor)… I’m enjoying the informational videos!
I really enjoyed the challenge! I lost 4.4 pounds (2 kg) and I feel great. I saw my doctor today and she said keep going! I like the structure of meal planning and tips. I’m going to continue with another week of the challenge & incorporate LCHF into my normal way of eating. Thank you!🙋🏽😊I saw my doctor today and she said keep going!
