“This Has Been EASY and I Feel Ten Years Younger (So Only 40)”

Challenge

This year over 65,000 people have signed up for FREE guidance, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, troubleshooting tips, etc., via the two-week low-carb challenge.

What could happen if you were to take it? Here’s feedback from this week (and note, this is one the last opportunities ever to sign up for our first low-carb challenge!).

Feedback

Hello,

Well, it wasn’t as difficult as I thought. But certainly a lot of fat and I am not used to eating that way. I followed it pretty much as it was laid out with the exception of lamb – not a fan. And I can’t eat that many eggs for breakfast. And I am not a big protein eater but I have changed that as required by the challenge.

I enjoyed the bullet coffee, surprisingly. I really appreciated the various recipes.

But weight after 10 days in was -8 lbs (3.5 kg) and took me into numbers I haven’t achieved in years. That made me smile out loud! I can’t believe it. I am more motivated than ever.

I have joined for a third week and have fasted two days on the 16/8 schedule. I am just not hungry in the mornings now.

I have full support of my family physician to reverse my diabetes. She was the one who introduced me to this program.
I have joined the distance IDM program and begin that next week. I have full support of my family physician to reverse my diabetes. She was the one who introduced me to this program. And Dr. Fung’s program. She is very progressive and has held me accountable for my health.

My diabetes specialist – not sure what he will think when I have a regular check-up in December. But if the results are there – with ongoing commitment from me – I am not sure how he will respond.

I really appreciate all the video material and the daily check-ins for added support and motivation.

Thank you for the follow up e-mail. Wish me continued success.
Valerie

Dear Andreas Eenfeldt,

Excellent!… Although I didn’t follow it day by day, meal by meal. I looked at the recipes and read the articles on your site.

Having satisfied myself that two weeks on a diet which those close to me thought could be dangerous, I set about cutting out carbs and increasing fat intake. I didn’t use a tape measure but my belts have shown a marked decrease in waist size and the scales have confirmed that the process works!

I’m not particularly overweight but as a regular player of golf who insists, for the sake of exercise, on pushing my own cart, I am concerned about the extra pressure put on joints with excess weight. The excess weight has crept up on me as a result of too much good eating and drinking… hence the diet.

During the past two weeks I have not cut out alcohol but followed the advice and have drunk wine and spirits (no beer) and I have not knowingly eaten bread, potatoes, rice, cakes, biscuits etc. I will continue to follow the diet for the foreseeable future.

Furthermore, I have sent to all my family a link to your article 14 low-carb fears.

With thanks,
Paul

Good morning,

This is the first time I was ever able to do an intro period to any diet. I was totally addicted to sugar, I would binge in the evening and be sick all through the night. I knew what I was doing was bad for my health but I could not resist the sugar. Also, what I didn’t realize was the amount of fruit and whole grains I was consuming when I was “eating healthy”, was also feeding the sugar addiction.

I will not sugar coat it (pun intended) the withdrawals were pure hell!
I will not sugar coat it (pun intended) the withdrawals were pure hell! The honesty about the side effects were very helpful. What helped the most was that I was not hungry, I found that amazing. I only eat two meals a day and can watch TV at night and not want to munch… amazing.

Thank you for changing my life.
Jessie

Dear Dr. Eenfeldt,

Thank you very much for presenting this 2-week LCHF challenge. I started this challenge a week earlier after having found your website and I was pleasantly surprised how easy the LCHF diet is to follow. Since several years ago, I’m trying to reduce my carb intake as my ultimate goal is to reduce one pant-size (if I can get flat abs as side effect, I wouldn’t say no).

I’m not overweight (54 kg for 158 cm – 119 lbs and 5 foot 2), but I feel better when I weight around 50 kg (110 lbs), the weight I had before my two pregnancies. Through my consistent effort on eating and excercising, I could either lose 1-2 kg (2-4 lbs) in the short term or maintain this weight even after menopause (I’m 52), but I was constantly trying to find an eating way which would permit me to recover my weight of the past. Even though I’ve tried several diets, until today, I couldn’t find a diet which wouldn’t starve me and that I can follow long term.

About one month ago, I watched a Korean TV show (I’m Korean who lives in France) about LCHF and it made me curious about this diet, it even convinced me to try it. After some research through the internet, I’ve found your website (congratulations on the quality of your website, I really love it!).

After three weeks of LCHF challenge, I have lost 1.3 kg (3 lbs) and 2% of body fat (according to my scale), most of all, I’ve lost 4 cm (2 inches) of waistline at navel level. This is amazing, so from this week, I decided to combine the IF and LCHF as you suggested on your website to experiment with this diet longer.

During this challenge, I didn’t miss starchy carbs (rice, pasta, etc), but fruits, I even had some auto sabotaging thinking “fruits are healthy”. Missing fruits was the most difficult part, otherwise LCHF got rid of my sugar craving and it was quite easy to follow without any feeling of hunger.

For the moment, I don’t have any idea on how to improve the challenge, because it worked well with me as it is, but if I find one later, I will let you know.

Thanks again and keep up the good work,

Friendly yours,
Young

P.S. If you need an ambassdor of LCHF in France, I’m here.

Hi Andreas,

Loved the challenge and I am definitely going to continue with the LCHF way of eating. I’m loathe to call it a diet!

I am losing inches – and they’re going off in places I’ve never really found it easy to lose weight on before.
I lost 2 lbs (1 kg) the first week but put them back on this week. However, I am losing inches – and they’re going off in places I’ve never really found it easy to lose weight on before. So there are changes, I’m feeling good and eating far less than I ever have before. And I’m just not thinking about food much now, unless I’m hungry and need something to eat.

The two-week challenge allowed me to get to grips with a new and better way of eating, so I aim to continue and hopefully the weight will follow the inches very soon. From what I’ve read, this often happens.

Keep up the good work!

All the best,
Allison

Hi Andreas,
This has been EASY and I feel ten years younger (so only 40).
I’m on day 24 of LCHF and I’m 6 kg (13 lbs) down, 93 to 87 kg (205 to 192 lbs). This has been EASY and I feel ten years younger (so only 40).

I came to your site after I’d begun this diet but I enjoyed / valued your videos for the health aspects and also the recipes.

Lots of people I know are astonished by my weight loss and I’ve used your site as THE go-to recommendation for the LCHF diet.

To be honest, I can’t imagine not doing this in the future…

Thank you for your help and advice!

Nic

Hi Andreas,

Thank you so much for organizing the two-week challenge. I have been amazed at how I have been able to stick to this diet and to be able to say no to food I have previously found irresistible.

I have really enjoyed your recipes and have found that I don’t feel hungry between meals. I have a lot of weight to lose but one of the motivating factors to start the diet was to see if stopping sugar and carbs would reduce the pain that I suffer from arthritis. I’m happy to report that I have lost weight and the pain has definitely reduced.

I think the hardest part about the diet for me is the social occasions. I am planning to make this diet a lifestyle and look forward to losing more weight in the future.

Thanks again Andreas,
Faye

Awesome! I lost 13 lbs (6 kg). My hunger level has decreased, I have more energy, and I’ve noticed that the swelling in my ankles are gone.

I’m really surprised because I’m on several medications that have caused me to gain a considerable amount of weight over the pass 6 months. But now I’ve found a way to control and lose weight.

I’m so glad for finding Diet Doctor. By the way, how much water should I be consuming a day?

Thank you from an individual that almost gave up on fighting the weight battle.

Hi,

My husband and I did the 2-week challenge and were pleasantly surprised how tasty the food was. We tried so many new things too and didn’t really miss potatoes, rice or pasta.

It was a real culture shock to be cooking vegetables in butter and olive oil rather than steaming them and I struggled with my conscience a bit, especially as we are both on statins.

The one thing we both really missed was cereal in the mornings. My husband lost 10 lbs (4.5 kg) and I lost 4 lbs (2 kg).

Thank you,
Brian and Sue

Dear Andreas,
Your recipes are superb! You have my husband eager to eat his veggies.
Your recipes are superb! You have my husband eager to eat his veggies. My weight loss is all I recorded. Down 3.4 kilos (7 lbs). Great start.

I wasn’t able to do all the shopping and have substituted some vegetables suggested with those in my garden. I wasn’t very strict either.

On Sunday, I will start the challenge again. Thank you for all the effort you have put into these meals. I have one question: is this the best diet for a cancer patient? My friend’s mom has cancer and was wondering if these recipes would be fine for the lady.

Best regards,
Mel

I think it is a good way to lose weight and improve my all around health, I’m diabetic, taking pills and when I started to follow this plan I had to cut back on my medication because I was having to many lows.

Every time I check my glucose before and after a meal it’s always at a normal range without spiking like before, I’m really starting to get used to cooking like this and I don’t feel hungry all the time.

I have been cooking recipes from your program and really enjoy the food, it’s also easy to prepare. I will definitely be following this plan until I reach my desired weight and completely eliminate the Metformin and Glimepiride that I’m taking now, I can’t wait for my next check-up and see the difference in my numbers like the HbA1c.

Thanks for what you do and hope to report back my findings at the check-up.

Best Regards,
Jay

I did a good amount of research on LCHF eating, and by far, I like your site the best. I would like to see more recipes and more vegetarian options. I’m not a big meat eater.
The scale hasn’t produced big weight loss numbers, but I do see and feel the changes. I do also feel a lot more energy.
I’m going to keep going with LCHF as I want to lose approximately 30-35 pounds (14-16 kg). So far, I have liked the changes I’ve seen in my body. The scale hasn’t produced big weight loss numbers, but I do see and feel the changes. I do also feel a lot more energy.

Thank you!
Nikki

Dear Dr Eenfeldt,
I felt a difference in my mood and by the tenth day my clothes weren’t so tight.
This was the best two weeks for me. Thank YOU! Yes, I had side effects. Headaches, cravings and sluggishness. But I felt a difference in my mood and by the tenth day my clothes weren’t so tight. That was a good feeling.

I wasn’t always obese. Before having children, I was a cyclist. I commuted daily from my apartment in Brooklyn, New York, to my office in Manhattan and did several distance tours. I struggled for
20 years with my weight climbing well over 300 lbs (136 kg), yo-yoing. I know I have quite a bit of weight to lose but I am going to take it one day at a time. I am fasting. It is amazing because before the LCHF program I was hungry ALL the time. I only eat when I am hungry.

Once I completed the two-week challenge yesterday, I weighed and measured my waist. I have lost 16 lbs (7 kg) and 2 inches (4 cm) from my waist. So as you can imagine I was so very happy and just danced around.

I am going to continue and I have recruited my husband to join me. Although he is trying he has tempted me and I just say “no thanks”. So I think he knows I’m serious about getting healthy. I have been fortunate with my health. Until two weeks ago, I was just diagnosed with pre-diabetes and no hypertension. I have been testing my glucose every morning and it’s averaging 80 mg/dl (4.4 mmol/l) (before LCHF it was 100-115 mg/dl – 5.5–6.4 mmol/l).

Your program is wonderful. The daily emails are so helpful for me to stay on track. The short motivating videos and recipes really give support for this journey.

Many thanks again,
Ally
